The colts played some good football at times, but were beaten by a stronger team. The Ressies played far better than their round 2 game, but fell short. The seniors were also well in the game into the last quarter, but fell away. Finally, the Vets went down to Kilsyth in their Saturday night match, despite the efforts of major recruit Glen Archer.

Played well at times, but could not play a full four quarters. After a poor 2nd quarter, we fought back to kick the first goal in the last quarter to be only 13pts down, however Blackburn steadied for a comfortable win.

A slow start against the breeze and again in the 3rd quarter. The ressies came home strongly kicking 5 goals to 1, but could not bridge the ¾ time gap.

As can be seen from the scoring shots, the colts had far more of the ball than the final margin suggests. The boys committed themselves to the contest against the top team and acquitted themselves well. Keep up the effort and the results will come….

The Vets played under lights at Kilsyth for the 10th Anniversary of the Gappa Cup. (Score so far is Sth Croydon 5 and Kilsyth 4). We also used this special event as a fundraiser for the “HEARTKIDS”. North Melbourne legend, Glen Archer (Shinboner of the Century) is an ambassador for this charity and agreed to play with Sth Croydon Vets special event. (the boys were pumped). A special thanks to Nick Maywald for organizing the event with Glen Archer.
An event like this brings players out of the woodwork and for the first time in a long time we had a pleasant dilemma. Too many Players!!!!!
