With 2 goals each to Andrew Boyce, Dustin Allen and Travis McKenzie thru a variety of methods doing the damage.
A great finsh to the 1st quarter mean't the momentum also shifted in the Roos favour, could they continue into the 2nd term? The Hawks dug in deep and prevented the 'Roos from hitting the scoreboard. The backline of Jacobs, Lovett, Langer, Chambers and Connell were being tested but holding strong as the Hawks wrestled and fought to gain some momentum. It wasn't until the 10 minute mark with a free kick to McKenzie that they scored followed by another goal this time to Andrew Hogan. Emile Studham slotted a long shot from the boundary on a tight angle and then Hogan again kicked truely at the 19 minute mark and the 'Roos had busted the gamne wide open to lead by 31 points at 1/2 time.
The Broadview Hawks are a proud club and always seem to grow an additional appendage when up against the 'Roos so a come back was on the cards starting with the 3rd term. Solid work in the midfield and around the ground was starting to pay dividends as Hogan continually won 1st possession of the footy giving Allen, Boyce, Long and Bridson the chance to clear the congestion. The struggle continued with the Haweks matching the 'Roos with 2 goals for the term but not gaining ground. Goals for the 'Roos during the 3rd term came from 1st gamer Dylan Lanctin who kicked straight from 35 metres out after taking a fine mark and Emile Studham with his second goal. The Roos now by 36 points.
A forward line restructure was need for the last term as some injuries began to take it's toll as the physical clashes mounted. The ball was continually driven forward by Langer, Lovett and Allen but some wayward kicking in front of goal prevented the 'Roos from stretching their lead. The only goal coming from returning veteren Brad Muller from a tight angle. The 'Roos had their chances to blow the Hawks out of the water but didn't take the chances when presented. The 'Roos home by 35 points at the finish.
