Marshy’s Mid Season Report Card
DIVISION 3
Performance Rating: St Kilda Saints
A poor start to the year but are starting to put some wins on the board.
Most Improved Player: Cameron Ludowyke (Mackie)
If Mackie makes anymore progress we might be seeing the Moody’s back in the 1s in no time.
Needs to Lift: James Wells (Lemons)
Since suffering a broken nose early in the season the tall utility has gone missing. His return will add some much needed pace to the side and should be trialed up forward but first we have to get him back to training.
Highlight: The break-through win against Wests after a 0-4 start to the season.
Lowlight: A disappointing loss away to Campbelltown by a solitary point.
Leading Goal-kicker: Simon Lawrenson (Astro) - 12 / About 5 less than Wrighty has given him credit for.
3 Words to describe the season so far: "Up and down" - L. Gemmill
A few more words:
The Ressies started the season like a schizophrenic senior citizen. I.e. We have seen some good performances, some average performances and then some performances in which the team suffered a dose of short-term dementia and completely forgot how to play football.
But despite some inconsistencies, the ressies have managed to stay in touch with the top 4, and a win over Southern Power last round has kept them well and truly in the hunt.
The team has the ability to play an exciting and effective brand of football but a lack of cohesiveness at times brings that all apart. What the side needs is a serious case of Team James-Coburning (Bond(y)-ing… See what I did there?).
Then, if the Gammatron can put his UFC aspirations on hold, the boys have a chance to string a few wins together and earn a finals spot.
