Last game the U17’s had a hard fought game against the Bloods. It was a much closer game then the scoreboard read, with a lot of good passages of play from both sides, but the Hillies were able to get the goals when needed. The boys are showing a lot more passion, or as Brett put it, “showing some mongrel”, and this will be needed today against the top side in Leithville-Gunbower. Best Players: M. Kent, R. Irwin, N. Irwin, M. Begg, B. Tanner, R. Hocking
Well the 2’s continued on from their bad game against Locky, with very few players willing to put their body on the line. Elmore are a good team, and really showed the boys how to play for most of the game. In the last quarter the Hillies decided to have a dig, and showed what they can do when switched on. Today is the day they need to get back into the winners circle and build from there. Best Players: Beggy, Nooddles, Spikka, Grunter, Bowlesy & Jacko
The Hillies supporters got what they have been hoping for when the Seniors took to the park. A great 1st quarter from the boys with a 6 goals to 1 start. We knew the Bloods would come back hard and by half time the scores were level. The Hillies then held the lead until half way through the last quarter when the Bloods got 10 pts clear, but to the boy’s credit, they fought back with a goal apiece from Jim and Nisha, we hung for a great victory. As Jugger said after the game, “the boys really deserved the win”, (and it made the Bus Tour even better.)
Best Players: Matty, Wrighty, BT, Eddie, Jus & Nisha
