For the first time in many seasons the Curra Swans have secured back to back wins after easily accounting for the University Hawks at Muldoon Oval on Saturday.
Continuing on their recent good form the Swans made it 3 from 4 and moved to equal second on the ladder setting up a mouth watering contest with neighbours Hermit Park this week.
The Swans outscored the Hawks into the wind in the opening term and were never headed from there on. A 7 goal second quarter onslaught gave the Swans a commanding 45 point lead at the main break. As they did the week before the Swans defied the windy conditions in the third quarter and put through another 5 majors to take a 9 goal break into the final break.
The final quarter proved to be a let down for the Swans who only managed 3 goals into the wind against a deflated opponent.
The players were happy with the win but disappointed they didn’t go on with it in the final term. And that is a good sign for coach Peter Young. Young has been at the playing group to be super competitive and for three quarters on Saturday they were just that.
Best Players: D. Faulds, B. Hill, W. Huddleston, A. McDonald, D. Bycroft

This week the Swans take on the Tigers at Neil French Oval and will need to be switched on for the four full quarters to reverse the outcome of their last meeting.
