The Tweed Coast Tigers will head to Banglow this Saturday to take on the Byron Magpies in for Rd 8 of the Summerland League.
The competition has now been reduced to 4 teams after the unfortunate withdrawal of Nimbin and Coolangatta this week. However after a restructured draw this now means that every game for the Tigers will be a tough one. There are now no easy beats in the league and each game will be test for the remaining four clubs Byron, Ballina, Lismore and Tigers.
The Tigers have only played 1 official game in 5 weeks and are fired up to get back on the winners board. Whilst they have been training hard there is no substitute for match fitness and the team is looking forward to a couple of weeks of hard football.
Tigers Captain Jai Purcell commented “After a disjointed few weeks we are just keen to get back on the paddock. Byron is always tough at home and with the return of a couple of their star players Kane and Kurt Bullock we will have to step up to get the points.”
The Tigers have several players back in this week with the John Westy Weston to bolster the backline and Josh Bone finally returning from a niggling groin injury into the centre.
All Tigers supporters are encouraged to make the journey south.
The Game starts at 2pm Banglow.
Go Tigers!
