The Tweed Coast Tigers will play under lights for the first time in the Club’s short history this Saturday Night when they take on Coolangatta Blues Summerland Team in what should be a big day of footy at Len Peak Oval , Kirra. The Tigers will start at the later time of 4.30pm, straight after the big match between Cooly Blues and Palm Beach with Jason Akermanis to take the field for the Blues and former Tigers players David Round and Arnold Knight playing for Palmy.
The Tigers lost last Saturday to Lismore to break their massive 24 game winning streak and are determined to not make it 2 in a row.
Tigers Captain Jai Purcell commented “We have put last week behind us and are really looking forward to Saturday nights match v Coolangatta under lights. There should be a good crowd at Kirra and the lads keen to put on a solid game. We need to regroup and Cooly are always a challenge at home.”
The Tigers have several players back in this week with the strong marking Timmy Wells to bolster the backline and Josh Bone returning from a groin injury into the centre.
The Tigers giant ruckman combination of Brennan Lye and Nathan Wilson has been dominating all season and Coolangatta will need to combat this to upset a fired up Tigers on Saturday Night.
The Game starts at 4.30pm Len Peak Oval, Kirra.
