How A Racing Night Works
Each race consists of 6 horses and there will be 6 races over the night with the last race being the Werribee Centrals Cup.
Before each race begins the 6 horses are auctioned to the highest bidder. Horses can be bought by individuals or syndicates. Syndicates usually consist of 4 members but can be as large or as small as you like. Once you have bought a horse you have naming rights and are entitled to any prize money it receives.
People who miss out on buying a horse can place bets with the bookies on any horse in the race. Each horse has odds displayed during to the race.
The MC begins the race by throwing 2 dice, 1 for the number of the horse and the second for the amount of places the horse moves along the track. The track is 18 squares long with a lane for each horse. The first horse to finish on the winning post is the winner. People who backed the winning horse can pick up their winnings.
The sixth and final race is the Werribee Centrals Cup. The field for this race will contain the 5 previous winners. The sixth horse in the cup will be auctioned to the highest bidder prior to the start of the race.
