Pocket rocket forward Travis Mills has picked up 10 votes in the last 2 rounds in the 2011 Airlie Beach Hotel Cougar award after superb goalkicking efforts.
Mills has kicked 13 goals in the past fortnight and in both games received the maximum of 5 votes.
Voting for the prestigous media award,taien out in 2010 by gun forward /midfielder James brain(now at State league club Aspley) is done on a weekly basis using the 5-1 format with 5 being adjudged the best player on the ground for Noosa.
Star onballer Lucas Matthews leads the cougar media award on 12 votes after a very consistent start to the year whilst big bustling forward Danny Brewster sits second on 11 votes. Brewster,a former premiership player with Narre warren in the casey cardinia comp` in victoria,has been outstanding for the tigers so far,not only for his goalkicking contributions but the way he protects his teammates and brings them into the game with his strong bullocking work.
Mills of course sits in 3rd position on 10 votes whilst champion rover and dual best and fairest winner Caleb isles and new recruit Owen bailey are equal 4th on 10 votes.
Isles has missed one game through injury & this week will play his 100th Senior Match in Tigers Colours, whilst bailey has been super impressive on ball with his pace and delivery.A great award to win with the winner receiving 5 nights accomadation at the airlie beach hotel with all meals provided.
