The Hamilton Wildcats had a huge 15 goal win over the Toronto Rebels on Saturday and will be looking to break an 11 game losing streak to the 'Roos dating back to 2005. The Wildcats have recruited some very good Australians over the winter who tore apart the rebels ith the pin point passing and running off the half back line and will be a good test for the Kangaroos in their season 1st game.
The Kangaroos are no slouchs themselves in the recuitment of Australians over the summer have also add 7 new Australians to the squad. Dustin Allen and Justin Harris are returning to the Royal Blue and White after 2 and 1 year absences respectively, while adding Jack Morwood (De La Salle), Andrew Hogan (Box Hill Hawks), Oliver Tummel (Scoresby), Brett Connell (Morningside) and also await the arrival of Brett Trimble from Victoria.
While the Australians have been toped up the return of Canadians Dave Tumber, Adam Bradley and Brad Muller will bolster the ranks while the addition of serveral new Canadian rookies to the list ensures fresh blood for years to come.
The clubs 1st home game is scheduled for Thursday May 19th against the Toronto Eagles.
