Ainslie had a good day against our tough rival Queanbeyan winning all three grades on Saturday at Ainslie Oval.
After a tight first half with only 7 points seperating the teams the Div 1 side broke free of Queanbeyan in the 3rd quarter to end up winning the game by 71 points.
Final score: Ainslie 20.16-136 def Queanbeyan 10.5-65
The Muir Medal in honour of Alan and Ian Muir was awarded to Ainslie Captain John Holmes who provided a lot of drive from the midfield.
The Ainslie Div. 2 team won a hard fought contest to win by 13 points. Queanbeyan led the game by a point at 3 quarter time but Ainslie were able to get on top in the last quarter kicking 4 goals to 2.
Final score: Ainslie 12.9-81 def Queanbayan 10.8-68
The U18 game between Ainslie and Queanbeyan was another very even game with Ainslie winning by 14 points. The lead changed throughout the game and at 3 quarter time Ainslie led by 2 points.
Final score: Ainslie 7.13-55 def Queanbeyan 5.11-41
On Sunday the Women's team and the Div. 3 team played Belconnen at Ainslie Oval.
The Women's game was a tense struggle all day with both teams playing high quality football. Belconnen held a 3 point lead at 3 quarter time and held on to win by 2 points.
Final score: Ainslie 6.10-46 def by Belconnen 7.6-48
