Werribee Centrals goes all out in pink for breast cancer
This coming Mothers Day weekend, Werribee Centrals Senior Football & Netball Club will turn pink as players compete in the third annual Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA) Pink Footy & Netball Day.
Held in partnership with the WorkSafe Victorian Country Football League (VCFL), Netball Victoria, and AFL Canberra, BCNA’s Pink Footy & Netball Day runs from 7 - 8 May 2011 and is a chance for netball clubs and footy clubs across Australia to show their support for, and pay tribute to, women from their local communities who have been affected by breast cancer.
Hundreds of netball and football clubs across Victoria, South Australia, New South Wales and the ACT will be playing for those affected by breast cancer during Pink Footy & Netball Day 2011. Money raised over the pink weekend will go directly to BCNA to support its work in ensuring women diagnosed with breast cancer are provided with the very best information, services and support, no matter who they are or where they live.
Shane Grigg Senior President from Werribee Centrals Football & Netball Club urged Wyndham residents to get behind the club this Pink Footy & Netball Day on Mothers Day Weekend.
“Pink Footy & Netball day is a great opportunity for the whole community to put on a show of strength and support for women affected by breast cancer. “Shane said. “We hope that everyone will come down, get involved and cheer on the teams.”
