Surrey just never got going against Ferntree Gully the benchmark team of Division 4 last Saturday. The stronger, bigger bodied Gully side kicked 11 goals 3 behinds in a powerhouse display in the first quarter - and that was just the beginning.
In a match best forgotton, the only memorable moment for Surrey was a stunning tackle layed by Matt Jeffries in the second quarter where the contact was rumoured to be heard in Box Hill!

Reserves
Surrey Reserves were competitive early going in three points behind at the first break. A four goal burst by Ferntree Gully in both the second and final quarters proved the difference in what was a hard fought contest.

Under 18s
Surrey Park Under 18s suffered their first loss of the season against Ferntree Gully on Saturday. Despite many skill errors due to strong presure from the Gully, Surrey went in at the major break one point ahead. Gully took control of the game after half time with only a late rally by Surrey in the second half of the last quarter reducing the margin to 17 points.
