Surrey Park's Senior side were soundly defeated by the Eastern Lions in round 1 of the Division 4 competition at Fairpark Reserve on Saturday.
Surrey were never in the game with basic skill errors and a lack of hardness at the ball costing them dearly early in the first quarter. The Eastern Lions eventually running out easy winners by 148 points.

Under 18s
Surrey Park’s new Under 18 side had a stunning debut against the Eastern Lions winning by a massive 196 points. Surrey took a modest 20 point lead into the first break in what was at this stage a relatively close contest. In the second quarter with the wind Surrey’s run, skill and teamwork came to the fore extending their lead to 57 points by half time. A seven goal third quarter against the wind and a massive 14 goals 10 behinds in the final quarter capped off a memorable win.
