September; Old mate Memory Lane was gunna and praise the lord he did. After 2 entertaining years in the Mid SE big time Chrissy takes a well earned break and Memory rocks up for another crack at the big one.
October; Our Cairns footy trip was a real blast. Most of the blokes had a jump (bungee style) apart from the Moth and me who wish to treasure the few years we have left. The casino and the missing link got the better of Rocket Rod. Schnitz fell in love and BC couldn’t phone home. None of the local rugby heads were keen on the AFL granny replay. Reciprocal arrangements next day when their crap was on the bloody big screen. Rear admiral Boyds Philadelphia experiment came to a close but not before the old cheese taster had smuggled out bulk kilos of the stuff as Heidi Hi would agree with the old blokes ever expanding belt running out of notches. Dole bludger for only a short period before another set of clothes from. Hilton Hotel / Mules marriage was duly celebrated congrats to Jenny and Mike. Rural Yard shut Down! (still not happy)
November; Memorys gun recruit from Penola Lead Foot Lepley gets laid up for a while due to friendly fire. Mad Munday left his mark around town in his 4 days here for the big wedding. Ace groundsman Crackerjack takes delivery of his you beaut mower. The state of the art machine is a humdinger. Not good if want to drink and drive but.
December; The Mules boys tag team with Mad Munday for summer footy in Darwin but not before HERE,S JOHNNY!! sends down a bouncer in the Mount ‘night comp`.
January; The Doo boys when not cleaning their fish cleaned up the Beachport locals in their inaugural 20 / 20 cricket challenge match. Captain coach Dexter was impressed with the form shown by legends Bearing and Crowbar. Jack be nimble but not so quick showed glimpses. Stags art vogue trophy was very apt and will be keenly fought after in 2012. At their mums birthday bash the Opie boys Hunchy and Bearing let it all hang out in an impromptu nudie run, with the footy club president winning by a ~short half head. Mike Durbs buck show signaled the end of his wild days. Young Thorny didn’t quite make it. Johnny Guvs rocks up from Darwin and promptly puts his coat on.
February; Slogger gained another son. Jims (and Figs) mowing services started their regular town house circuit. Richmond reject Rear Admiral Boyd proudly unveiled his nephew Braidy. The old bloke teary at remembering his own stellar career. Old maggotpie MICK CARLOS AGNEW finally gets a cyclone named after him!
March; Bulljaw finally talked his old man Cubby into retiring and took up squatters rights on the property – a brisk walk to the Hilton or club. March was also a time for mourning with an unprecedented run of bad luck. Sympathy from the club to the Cameron, Life member Peter Flanagan, Stewart, Meyer and Jerome families. Also to Sam O’Connor and his family with the sad loss of Peter, a valued supporter and sponsor of Kalangadoo for many a year. His contribution and Sams continued support has been invaluable. Condolences also to the old Pirate and young bloke Thorndog on the passing of Jim Thorn. The Mules boys rock up after winning a flag in the top end. Hope their good luck continues at home.
Young Tin Can, Macca has taken over Tuna Toms Bees and got most of them up and running. Benny Walks is the senior colts mentor and Timmy Brennan will continue his good work with the minis.
Next week’s home game against Nangas will see us celebrate the 10 year anniversary of our famous grand final win. A chance would be a fine thing in 2011.
