Allan Raymond Hodgson 27/10/1923-9/3/2011
Allan Hodgson began his long association with Reservoir Lakeside in the mid sixties when he became one of the Gatekeepers; he kept this position for an amazing 40 years! In 1970 Allan joined the general committee before becoming Vice President in 1976 a position he held for the next 3 years, at the end of season 1980 Allan retired from the general committee. During his 11 years on the committee Allan was heavily involved in Recruitment and Fundraising, this decade was to become Lakies most successful.
In 1982 Allan was awarded Life membership, a most fitting accolade.
In 1983 Allan returned to the general committee to help the club, where it was at its lowest point for many years, he stayed on for 3 years helping to stabilise Lakies.
In 1988 Allan rejoined the committee again as Vice President helping guide Lakies as they returned to 1st Division, he held this position for 3 years.
In 1993 Allan was awarded the Joe Natoli award for Best Clubman of that year, aged 70!
Allan embraced the merger between West Preston and Reservoir Lakeside in 1998 and continued his duties as Gatekeeper till season 2004, retiring at age 80.
For the next 6 seasons Allan was a regular at Home matches catching up with some mates and enjoying the footy.
What an amazing contribution to his local community.
