It is with great sadness that we report the passing of North Mackay premiership player Paul Lauder on 19/10/2010. Paul succumbed to the disease he had been battling for the last couple of years.
Paul joined the North Mackay Saints in 1991, playing his 1st senior game in 1992. He was an integral part of the 2001 premiership term, kicking an inspirational goal late in the 3rd qtr when the Saints were almost out of the game.
Paul played his 100th game for the club on 2/5/1999 v Eastern Swans and was best on the ground that day. In all, Paul played 133 games for the Saints.
Paul was known for his uncompromising attack on the ball and his love of kicking a goal, which he managed to do on a regular basis despite playing most of his career in the back pocket!
Paul made the cut for the squad of the top 40 players for the Saints All Stars Team ( 1971 to 2009 ) named in 2009. This was a great achievement, as there were many great players that missed that squad.
Paul is survived by his wife Jodie & sons Brenton & Riley, all at the Saints send their love & condolences to you.
Paul may be gone but he will not be forgotten.
