To gain a closer appreciation of the flood damage around the VCFL affiliated football/netball clubs Glenn Scott (VCFL CEO), Shayne Ward (VCFL Planning & Facilities & Junior Football Manager) and Brett Anderson (VCFL South West Area Manager) will be visiting a number of affected areas on Thursday and Friday this week.
As we have done in the past with drought and particularly the bushfires we feel it is important to ascertain the levels (and range) of damage to football & netball playing surfaces and facilities to allow us to develop appropriate levels of assistance programs and activities in a well informed and coordinated fashion. We clearly understand this is a very difficult time for many people however if you or someone associated with your club has 10 minutes to meet with us when we are visiting your town or area as per our attached schedule we would welcome the opportunity to catch up.
Obviously there will be several areas that remain inaccessible or too early to assess damages and these areas we would like to visit in the coming weeks. We also realise that it is not just the tangible flood damage but also the effect on the people, businesses and farms in all communities including those who are also directly involved in their local clubs.
Whilst our visits on this occasion may only be brief we will no doubt gain a much better understanding of the situation throughout many of the areas football/netball clubs.
I will ask our VCFL Area Manager to try and make contact with you re the possibility of catching up if at all possible and again we realise these are difficult times for many people and many communities.
Best regards,
Glenn Scott
