The Chelmer Oval area of Western Districts and our changerooms was well under water when the flood waters stopped rising. On Saturday, 15 January a working bee met around noon at the clubs. Thanks to the Souths Sharks players, the Bears players and their parents and friends who got down to lend a hand.
A lot of people are affected by this, so if anybody knows of a player, ex-player, family member, or even a friend of the club who is in need please call Mumf on 0403327126. We can email a playing list and get messages to the Bears group to pitch in for whatever kind of cleanup and assistance.
As for the Western Districts club, if anybody knows of an electrician that is willing to assist in testing the club and associated lighting could they also call Mumf.
As for the contents, hopefully we can salvage a few things and see how they dry out but we ask for everyone's patience in the near future.
As for training, it will start up again on Tuesday, January 18, so we are still meeting at Chelmer from 6pm. We can move some furniture around and hopefully have some kind of direction for the coming weeks. Chelmer Oval could be out of action for a while. So please bring your runners and any friends that are looking for a run in 2011.
