Ryan Sawers has seen the world after heading to Colerado with mates in an exchange that saw him working driving tourists to and from the skiiing fields. As fate would have it, his trip afterwards to Greece saw him come under the influence of one Brad Cross when they worked together in a bar which then saw him leave his native Melbourne, change careers from Golf Course Greenkeeper to painter, play footy at Tigerland and even buy a block of land and build at Noosaville with his partner.
Originally from Dingley in Melbourne, Ryan graduated to the Sandringham Dragons Under 18's and then played for Melbourne Demons affiliate Sandringham under Demons Champ Graeme Yeates in both the Seniors and Reserves.
After that it was off to Rye on the Mornington Peninsula for a year and then it was off to the USA and fatefully Greece after that.
In 2005 Ryan took Crossy's advice and lined up with Noosa and although he was working in horticulture on a golf course down South he swapped a rake for a paint brush and is very happy working with former coach Brett Maloney on the brush
Naturally enough given his former profession, Ryan was pretty handy with the clubs and got his handicap down to 4 a few years ago, and also used to love cricket but found like many that he had to make a choice between sports in his teenage years.
And now he has reached that stage of life where he has built a home at Noosaville, enjoyed a year away and now back fresh & keen we hope to see 28 year old Ryan play with the Tigers to reach 100, 150 ... games for the club.
Ryan a real quiet achiever and key player for the Club and is respected for both his performances and his knowledge and contribution to the team.
