NOR-West Jets can take plenty of positives out of last Saturday's game, despite being beaten by 103 points by University of NSW-Eastern Suburbs.
With several senior players unavailable, the Jets' youngsters took the opportunity to step up to first grade.
The experience gained by players like Joey Pajeska, Willy Jackett, Adam Rixon and Donald Waterston was a major benefit of such a hard day," coach Brendan Howden said.
The extra responsibilty taken on by young guns Clint Gardner, Fraser Thomson, Andrew Watson, Nick Cain and Peter Kyle was also good to see."
The swirling wind at Randwick proved a major problem for the Jets.
"Although comfortably whipped on the scoreboard, this side can hold its head high for courage and commitment," Howden said.
"A perfect example being David Blyth who, after starting a shift at Richmond RAAF base at 5.30am and finishing at midday, raced across town to make the game just before the first bounce."
Travis Bates made excellent leads all day and tried hard to provide a spark up forward.

Goal Kickers: Peter Kyle, Travis Bates, Joe Pajeska and Fraser Thomson.
