In 2011, the Maroochy Northshore Roos Australian
Football Club are entering a team in the AFLQ Under 18 - AFL SportsReady Cup Division 1 competition. The competition is
conditionally open to all boys born after 1st July 1993.
We are very excited to announce the appointment of Craig
Kimberley as coach of the Maroochy Northshore Roos U18, who will be assisted by
Geoff Armstrong and Joe Brennan. Craig brings with him a wealth of coaching
experience at both senior, and more recently, junior levels on the coast, and
will also instill a strong sense of loyalty, discipline, respect, and passion
into a well drilled squad in 2011.
The Maroochydore Senior and Junior Football Clubs have
formed a joint steering committee to establish the team, chaired by Lyndsay
Halson, and will be hosting an information evening on Wednesday, 17th
November at the Maroochydore Roos Club rooms at Fishermans Rd from 6.00PM. This
is a fantastic development in the continuing relationship of junior and senior
clubs at Maroochydore and it bodes well for the future of football in the
region.
We would like to invite all potential players, parents
and supporters along to this information evening where plans for the
establishment of our Division 1, U18s team will be outlined. If you or anyone
you know might be interested in attending please pass this information on.
The Senior committee is also presently reviewing
coaching applications for all positions declared vacant at the end of season
2010. We are undergoing an exhaustive due diligence process to ensure the
selected candidates share the same vision and drive as the newly elected committee
for 2011 and beyond. We anticipate that all appointments will be finalised and
announced before the end of November and pre-season will commence in December
2010. In the early weeks training will be combined with the U18 playing group.
