Build it and they will come is the motto of the Macquarie University AFC Warriors and no one can stop the talking in Warrior Land about the catch of the day. Lindsay Bassini has been appointed as the Club's Head Coach for the next 3 seasons in a coup for the Club.
“To have Lindsay join our Club is extremely pleasing, as to get this calibre of Coach and to be leading the Warriors from 2011 onwards gives us great confidence,” Macquarie President Lee Jefferies said. “We are hungry for better things and know the next Premiership is just around the corner”.
Lindsay takes over from Daniel Kenny after Daniel stepped down due to work commitments. “I am really impressed with the style, personnel and facilities that the Warriors have here at Macquarie University and something I have always wanted to be able is to drive was great young talent and the betterment of the game. Sydney AFL landscape has come a long way and the Warriors are at the forefront of providing great grounding and the resources here for them is immense”, Bassani said.
“I look forward to working with the whole playing list not just the cream of the crop and the under 18s and the Women’s team are a big part of that.
Bassani joins the Warriors after playing and coaching very successfully for 20 years at all levels in South Australia League.
Lindsay will be supported by:
Luke Gemmill with Reserve Grade
Matt Scoular and Clinton Addison with 3rd Grade
Tim Cameron with the under 18’s
The Club will announce the 4th Grade and Women’s in the coming week.
