Sandringham Football Club has chosen to partner with local
business EKO Energy in a move that will see them rewarded with a free solar
electricity system.
EKO Energy uses
a unique and community-focussed approach to bring savings to their customers. It is this model that the company
is adapting around the football club and its supporters. The more Sandringham
Football club members, supporters and officials that support the initiative and
get a solar system installed at their own residence, the bigger the system the
club will get free of charge.
This community approach of bringing affordable solar power
is already familiar to many residents of Bayside with the company having
already installed 400 systems in the area.
Zebras Club General Manager John Mennie believes that the
initiative is a terrific way for the club to offset their electricity costs as
well as be involved in community solar projects. “By installing an EKO ENERGY
solar system the club will not only protect itself from soaring electricity
costs but will also dramatically reduce their carbon footprint.”
For EKO Energy founding CEO Erik Zimmerman, the company’s
focus has always been to give back to the community. “In 2008 we provided a
free installation to the Half Moon Bay Surf Life Saving Club and we are
delighted to be able to support the Zebras in their efforts to embrace
renewable energy.”
We have been making steady progress with quite a few signing up
and many more considering the offer. We would like to speed up the process so we
can have our system for the coming summer when we will receive the most
benefit.
Therefore
Eko Energy have kindly agreed to a further discount of $400 for the entry level
1.5 KW system.
This provides an even greater
incentive for our members, friends and associates to go solar and help yourself
save money and the impact on the environment. As always we appreciate the great
support from the members of the Sandy Football Club.
