But we look forward to the game and hope the conditions are bit more conducive to the footy we know the boys can play. We can be confident that the endeavour displayed last week will be repeated and this will see us going close to getting the chocolates and returning to A Grade. Finals footy is such an exciting time and it is great we are part of it and I am confident we shall have another week to savour.
The game commences at 2.10pm and we are the home side this weekend - black shorts, the winning shorts.
Good Luck to the boys and the coaching staff. Let's all get down there on the weekend to urge them on.
Unfortunately I wont be able to join the faithful for a pre game settler as the VAFA hierachy, in their infinite wisdom, are hosting me in their social rooms. And while I am assured the food is fine at the Elsternwick Hotel ( I did try to have a meal last week but to no avail) I look forward to venturing into the inner sanctum to hear all the goss and get the vibe around headquarters. I believe a few are planning to head to the Elsternwick beforehand.
We shall be heading down to the New Bay for celebratory refreshments afterwards.
AFL GRAND FINAL BREAKFAST
This is the club's biggest fund raiser for the year so we encourage all supporters to come along and enjoy an extremely jovial morning with some of Australia's best comedians. This is the 34th running of the breakfast.
You get a fully cooked breakfast and beverages and will be entertained by Moosehead Award Winner Brad Oakes, 10 times Mo Award winner Darren Carr and funnyman Des Dowling. There will be plenty of sporting auction items and giveaways. It is a terrific morning that really gets the day off to a flying start.
Victoria University is centrally located in Flinders Street so it is easy to get anywhere when festivities cease.
So come along, even get a table together, and support the club. I guarantee you will have a great morning. Details and a booking form are attached.
VOTE COUNT AND PRESENTATION NIGHT
We are putting the finishing touches to arrangements for the Vote Count and Presentation Night. At this stage they look like being on Sunday 19th of September and Friday 1st of October but we shall confirm that shortly.
