Welcome to the final Presidents report and Knights News for 2010. The season has finished for all of the East Malvern teams and pleasingly 2010 has finished on a high.
Congratulations to the Youth Girls team, coached by Alicia Eva who has won the Premiership for the second year in a row. Well done to all the players in this team, the coach and support staff. It was great atmosphere at the Ground on Saturday from all who made the trip to Wantirna South and then followed up at the club night on Sunday night to celebrate the success. It was a great effort from first year coach Alicia Eva who must have established a record going from Premiership Captain to Premiership Coach in a year. Surely she must be in line for the Essendon job!
Thank you to all our sponsors throughout the year without you we can’t provide the fantastic opportunities to our players. To our Major Sponsors Marshall White, East Malvern Bendigo Bank, Stockland and Malvern Physiotherapy a huge thank you on behalf of the club. I hope we can continue our long association next year.
A few dates are still important as we move towards finalizing our season. The committee is already planning for 2011:
- Grading selection ideas meeting will be scheduled for Tuesday night September 21st. This meeting will be held at the East Malvern RSL. This meeting is open to all members of the East Malvern Junior Football Club;
- Presentation Day at Malvern Primary school on Sunday September 12th commencing at 9.30am.
With the season now complete as a club I feel that we have taken many steps forward with new initiatives and improvements for all of the boys and girls who participate in Australian Rules Football at our great club.
There are many people to thank who have made this season such a success and I will leave most of this to Presentation day. The one person I want to thank whilst you are reading this publication and my report is Greg Miller. Greg has done an outstanding job in revamping Knights News and our website. I firmly believe we now have one of the best publications in junior football, if not all football for you to enjoy each week. Well done Greg!
Finally thank you to everyone who throughout the year heeded my message that the reputation of the club is one of competitiveness and fairness both on and off the ground. Parent behavior is the cornerstone of a successful club. At all times ensure we respected our opposition and the umpires. I thank you for ensuring that at the end of 2010 our reputation as a club is intact and we approach 2011 with our heads held high.
The committee hopes you have all enjoyed your participation in the EMJFC and we look forward to seeing you and your friends here in 2011.
Go Knights
