Lismore needed a good performance in the final match of the season before finals and the boys produced. The Swans led from the very start and held a comfortable buffer for the majority of the game to come out 34 point winners. Lismore needed a strong performance so desperately to give the boys some confidence coming into the finals.
Lismore started well with the breeze in a brilliant first term that saw lots of run from the midfield and backline as the Swans took a 15 point lead into the first break. The Swans had another good term in the second however were still missing some easy goals as they took a 24 point lead into half time.
A good start in the third kicking the first couple of goals before Byron rallied back with 4 consecutive goals closing gap before the Swans stabilised with a late goal to hed into the final break with a 27 point lead.
The Magpies kicked the first in the final term and concerns of another final quarter meltdown loomed, however the boys have learnt a lot from this and stepped up to run out 34 point winners. Lismore 16.16-112 to Byron 11.12-78. The Swans will now take on the Magpies again next week in the elimination final at Oaks Oval at midday.
