Congratulations to all teams that competed
in finals last week. Unfortunately both our Under 14 Division 1 team and our
Under 16 Division 1 team were unsuccessful in winning their games and as such
the season has ended for both of them. This season has been a great reminder to
our club about how tough the competition across the age groups is, in a
competition as strong as the Moorabbin Saints Junior Football league. Success
in all divisions of football requires more than talent alone and we have plenty
to strive for in 2011.
Congratulations to the Under 11 White team
coached by Greig Ward. The Under 11 Whites play in the West division Grand
Final at 10.30 on Sunday at Moorleigh Reserve. Our Youth Girls who have been
playing great football all year have their first final on Saturday. East
Malvern vs Seville at 10.30am ( 1 vs 4). This game is played at Lewis Road
Reserve Wantirna South. If the Girls win this it will be another Grand Final on
Saturday week.
It would be great to see as many East
Malvern families as possible at these games to support the two teams that
remain in the finals.
A few dates are still important as we move
towards the end of the season. The committee is already planning for 2011;
- Coaches and Team mangers
meeting date has been scheduled for Tuesday night August 24th. The
meeting will be held at the East Malvern RSL, Stanley Grose drive from
7.30pm. Drinks and snacks will be provided. If there are any topics coaches and
team managers would like covered please email Mick Ahearn or Lewis Bearman;
- Grading
selection review meeting will be scheduled after the season has finished
and finals have been played.
The MSJFL Best and Fairest count was held
on Tuesday night. Congratulations to the following players who polled
exceptionally well on the night.

Jack Gilbert U12 West Equal 3rd
The following players all finished in the
Top 10.
U 11 East Isaac Morrisby & Will
Sutherland
U 11 West Charlie Cormack & Tim Slack.
In this division Grace Beasley finished just out the top 10 but was the best
placed girl.

The club presentation day has been
scheduled for Sunday September 12th 2010. Once again our
presentation day will be held at Malvern Primary school. The day will begin at
9:30 am. More details will follow shortly but please mark this date in your
calendar.
With only a few weeks of football to go
please don’t let the club or yourselves down in the home straight. To all
players and parents please ensure that the reputation of the club is one of
competitiveness and fairness both on and off the ground. Parent behavior is the
cornerstone of a successful club. At all times ensure we respect our opposition
and the umpires.
