Good Afternoon Mighty Eagles
We have now come to the beginning of another CAFL season and I can not wait, bring on Summer and bring on the Blues.
This year I believe with the talent we have retained from previous years and the new eager members who have joined this year,
we have the opportunity to be a competitive force in the competition and have a good chance of making the final and winning.
As you all know this will not be easy, the main obstacle will be commitment which we need to improve on from the past,
this means if you do not put in the effort or turn up to trainings do not expect to automatically start or even play on Saturdays!
I know that some people will be unable to attend some trainings due to work and other commitments,
that's fine as long as you have let the Eaglesafc know about it (eaglesafc@gmail.com).
AFL is all about having fun and winning helps this, there are lots of niggily and odd rules in AFL that you can get penalised for,
you need to try and remember and learn these.
You need to know that even players that have played 3 or more seasons don't know all the rules and its all about learning
and trying hard not to commit them again.
(I understand that it is sometimes just part of the game committing some of these penalties on a regular basis ie throwing elbows and late hits).
But by reducing the penalties we give away and the 50m marches, it will make the game a whole lot easier.
If you don not know a rule ask someone at training, I'm sure they wont mind explaining the rule or even look it up on the internet.
Thats enough of a yarn for me I hope some of it sinks in and we get as many numbers to trainings as we can.
Starting tonight August 17th 4pm Illam fields.
Cheers
Simon Carden
