Reserves look to keep premiership hopes alive
A third consecutive loss has seen the Reserves drift down the ladder to fourth spot after losing their latest encounter to Sandgate. Upon precariously holding top position after Round 15, a 3 point loss to Maroochy/Northshore followed by narrow loss to Surfers Paradise and yesterday's loss to Sandgate sees the Pumas relegated to 4th at the end of the home & away season. Noosa kept winning matches but couldn't find a final berth until they demoralised 3rd-placed Maroochy in the last round to grab 5th spot. Having already beaten Sandgate, they must be considered premiership contenders along with their Senior's team.

Springwood who have been decimated with injuries recently will now play Noosa this Sunday (11.45 pm at Salk Oval PBC) in the Elimination Final and are faced with a giant challenge to beat the team who have the equal best defensive record and the momentum.
Under 16's a revelation - with good reason
The Pumas' young guns' comprehensive 11 goal win over Kenmore on Sunday would not have been enough to grab 3rd spot on percentages but when Sandgate faltered and fell to Mt Gravatt in the last round of the home & away season, it didn't matter. Springwood finished 3rd and in the coveted top 4 and will now play 2nd-placed Aspley in the qualifying final at Morningside at 2.15 pm this Sunday.
The Pumas have defeated all the Division 2 teams this season and have been competitive against the Div 1 teams. Unlike most teams who have played the top sides, the Pumas have held them all to under 10 goals. They last met Aspley in Round 6 and lost by 7 goals but the Pumas had a few injuries and the Hornets are not short on State squad players at any time. The Pumas led after the first quarter and were down by only 8 points at half time before Aspley lifted in the 3rd quarter to lead by 6 goals at the break. However, the Pumas also boast great depth and talent and many have been integral to their representative team performances.
It would be easy to be happy (and rightly so) with where they've finished thus far after the home & away fixture season, but you can bet that the boys will throw absolutely everything at Aspley on Sunday. They're not expected to win and the pressure will be on the Hornets to perform.

Under 18's looking for back-to-back premierships
The Pumas as Minor Premiers have been training hard with only the one match played in the past few weeks. After a spirited first half from PBC, Springwood's run and fitness saw them finish the better to win the semi-final by 6 goals. The preliminary final played last Sunday sees PBC take on Surfers Paradise. The depth of PBC may see them get home to set up a return clash in the Grand Final. The Pumas have won all their fixture matches but there's no given in finals footy and often depends on how much a team wants it although Springwood has been strong in the second half of matches thus far.

Under 14's Minor Premiers
The Under 14's sealed the Minor Premiership after smashing Logan Cobras by 7 goals last Sunday. The Pumas have the week off with their finals series to be contested by only the top 4 teams.
Come and support the Pumas on Sunday ..... at least one of them.
