Back in 2003
approximately 60 fresh faced eager young boys (not to mentions the dads) began
their journey at the East Malvern Football club playing for the Blue and White
teams.
This group of boys
first competition was with the WJFA, then moving for the 2008 season to
the YJFL and then to the MSJFL for the last two seasons.
From the initial
playing group of 60 boys, eighteen of them are still with the mighty Knights at
the U16 level today.
They have enjoyed great
success over the years including:
U9 WJFA Lightening
Premiers Div 1 (Blues)
U10 WJFA Lightening
Premiers Div 1 (Blues)
U11 WJFA Div 1 Premiers
(Blues)
U11 WJFA Div 2
Premiers (Whites)
U12 WJFA Div 1 Premiers
(Blues)
U13 WJFA Div 1
Premiers (Blues)
U13 WJFA Div 2
Premiers (Whites)
U14 YJFL Div 1
Finalists (Golds)
U14 YJFL Div 2
Finalists (Blues)
U15 MSJFL Div 1
Premiers (Golds)
These eighteen boys
have collectively played over 2,100 games for the Knights and have given themselves and
their parents some great memories.
The best of those
memories was probably in last years U15 Div 1 Grand Final when the boys were
behind all day yet managed to hit the front for the first time with 30 seconds
left in the game and snatch victory from the jaws of defeat.
Ten of the boys are in
the Sandy Dragons program and we wish them every success with their football
going forward.
So to the eighteen boys
and their Dads who have many roles for the club at both committee, coaching and
team manager levels, well done!!.
Go Knights
