Thirds (clubbies). We played Chelsea Heights at their ground, the many uncontrollables before the game were not in our favour and although trying extremely hard all day at the end they finished in front. Well done to all our people involved in the game. Continue our application and what we can control and we are not finished yet, thank you also to those who help out getting the boys on the park each week. Goal Kickers: D Spencer 2, N McCaig-Duffield, A Sutherland. Best players: C Bypost, T Danckert, N McCaig-Duffield, A Carey, K Stewart, D Carlton. Final scores: Highett 4-2 26, 9-9 63.
Reserves. We hosted Skye who were just outside the 5, our boys stamped their mark on the game from the start, with their highest scoring quarter of the day, with 4 goals, while keeping the opposition scoreless. When we concentrate and play football, our passages of play can be as good as any in our competition. They outscored us in the second term, maybe we were content and thought it was a done deal, we need to concentrate and continue to control games and not let our oppositions get a sniff. Another good performance by all, keep getting to training and support each other, exciting times ahead. Goal kickers: P Nelson 4, L Mead 2, H Soall, P Tinsley, L Richards, J Mead, R Cameron S Szatke. Best players: P Tinsley, L Richards, R Collett, J Mead, D Taylor, L McLean. Final scores:Highett 12-11 83, 4-5 29
Seniors. Groundhog day, each week gathering the thoughts for the previous game, there are no easy ones, we face good opposition each week, so our work ethic is paramount. Third playing sixth and each of the teams on equal premiership points, to falter could have been very costly in terms of our position in the five. The first quarter was tough with them kicking with what little breeze there was and at the completion scores were level. The second term we played good team football, building a sound lead by half time, with a little more accuracy, we may have been able to shut them right out of the game. The third quarter they obviously were going to give it their best, a lot of the play was in their forward half, but our defenders doing their miserable best and the inaccurate kicking by them, the game was out of their reach. The last quarter with the breeze stiffening , to help our cause further, we kicked our highest score for the day, well done, same, same, this week. Goal kickers: B Jedd 3, J Ellen 3, L Snell, S Danilovic, J Baker, T Robinson, T McMicking, C Lacey. Bet players: D McLaren, B Jedd, T Robinson, P Singh, J Elms, J Baker. Final scores: 12-14 86, 2-10 22.
