On a beautiful sunny day at Mayne, our Tigers ran onto the ground knowing that a win would secure top spot and yet after 30 minutes in which Noosa controlled much of possession, it was Mayne who held a 3.1 to 2.4 advantage.
Not for the first time this season, Fletch reassured the boys that we just had to sharpen our delivery and we should prevail, and what followed was a dominant 30 mintues in which we scored 9.2 to 2.3 to ice the match before the main break.
Mick Gafa kicked 4 of his 6 majors in the second term, and with Bocky presenting continually and Luke Matthews and Cubby driving the ball into the forward line, it was a good quarter to watch.
At the other end, Jason Boydle was performing admirably on a man mountain, Todd Panoho was starting to get his touch back after a week off, and Springy was using those jets and hard ball getting to advantage.
After half time our boys kicked 8.6 to 7.4 to take the choccies in a 60 minutes without too much attached to it for either side.
And from here the opponent's provide great challenges as we head into the business part of the season with great purpose and excitement.

In the Reserves our boys shrugged off a persistant Mayne who led at quarter time, to record a solid 46 point win
With Roo Stewart, Troy Duke and Chris Perry all booting two majors, it was a 4 goal to 1 second quarter that broke Mayne's back as our boys again proved that they are desperately unlucky to miss out on September action
