SENIORS
The Hawks were hoping to restore some respect on the weekend and finish off the season with a couple of wins. Queanbeyan were coming into the game having won their past 2 games and an eye on the top four. In a game where the scores changed each quarter, the Hawks came from 2 goals behind in the last quarter to kick 6 unanswered goals to run out eventual winners by 23 points
The Hawks have persisted with their new structure which choked Queanbeyans forward duo limiting the Tigers big forwards, Kavanagh and Armstrong, to 5 goals between them. Dave Nolen, returning after a few weeks up north, and Cuta(BOG) negated Queanbeyans dominance in the ruck. When the Tigers did go forwards the Hawks back line stood up with great performances by Robbo and Yoey. Dave Smith chipped in with probably his best performance all year by running off the back line setting up plenty of forward attacks. The move of Pip up forwards was rewarding with him chipping in 2 goals. Ben Cleaver once again had his usual brilliant game and has enjoyed the opportunity up forwards with 3 goals on Saturday.
Other honorable mentions must go to veterans Junior and Disco.
Tuggeranong 12.6.78 defeated Queanbeyan 8.8.56
