Congratulations to the 2010 Under 9 teams
whose seasons finished on Sunday with the completion of the MSJFL Under 9
Lightning Premiership. Once again the club hired marquees for those
participating. A great day was had by all who participated and for our Under 9
boys and girls this is traditionally a great way to finish the season. This
Sunday is the Under 10 Lightning Premiership. I want to wish our 3 Under 10
teams who are participating all the best of luck on Sunday. It will be great to
have a win in one of the divisions but most importantly we hope that all
players and parents have a fantastic day.
Once again on Sunday we will be hosting a
division at Lucas. If you get a chance to come down and have a look I encourage
you to do so. It is a carnival atmosphere and the ground looks great with
marquees of participating teams set up along the boundary line. As the Under 10
Colts division has an uneven number of teams we have also been given the
opportunity to field a team in this division on Sunday. Julian Battistella’s
Under 9 reds will be playing their second Lightning Premiership in the Colts
division. We wish them the best of luck as well and hope all the boys and girls
enjoy the experience.
We had our committee meeting on Monday July
26th. Thank you to the parents who have shown interest in joining
the committee in 2011 to assist the hard work that is being undertaken by all
of your current committee. There is still a few places we want to fill so I
encourage you to pick up the phone and give me or one of the committee members
a call so we can discuss how you can make a meaningful contribution in 2011.The
club only goes from strength to strength through YOUR involvement, new ideas and regeneration of hard workers.
There are a few more things to get done
before the year ends so please keep an eye out for the following events;
- Team Photographs August 8th;
- Coaches and Team mangers meeting date will
be advised ASAP but will be in August;
- Grade selection review meeting will be scheduled
after the season has finished and finals have been played. The grading
selection review meeting will be open to all club members as we seek your views
and feedback before embarking on the 2011 grading process.
In addition a clear team selection policy
for 2011 will be presented to all club members before the end of this year to
ensure there is clarity for the 2011 team selection process for Under 9’s
through to Under 12’s. As you are aware grading will continue for all teams
from Under 13’s and above.
To all players and parents please ensure
that the reputation of the club is one of competitiveness and fairness both on
and off the ground. Parent behavior is the cornerstone of a successful club. It
is not just up to the Team Managers. At all times ensure we respect our
opposition and the umpires. The league will be vigorously enforcing parental
controls during the finals; it would be a shame to miss your son or daughter
playing due to unacceptable comments or behavior.
Please remember to keep up the good work on
and off the ground and enjoy your participation in the EMJFC.
Go Knights
