On Saturday August 14th at the Noosa Tigers AFL ground Weyba road, Noosaville, at 10 am, the Noosa Australian Rules Football Club is again hosting a Legends game of Australian Rules football. After last years successful Legends game it is now an annual event. It will again feature many former great players of the proud Noosa Football club, and will give them the opportunity to dust of their boots for one last game.
This years game comes with a twist as it is the Noosa Past Players verses the Tiger Rebels. The Tiger Rebels side is made up of footballers having a link to the Noosa club but have played against them at some stage and will be coached by former Noosa Premiership player and inaugural Northshore coach Wayne Dover. While the Noosa Past Players team is coached by former great player and coach Craig ‘Swinger’ Horward. Both sides have organised training for the event, as they will be fighting it out for the honour of holding aloft the Doug Murray Cup. In recognition for Doug’s service to clubs such as Noosa and Nambour along with his dedication to the game for nearly half a century. The best a field player will receive the Dr Allan Smith Medal who is another local identity who has devoted a lot of time to the code.
The game is the Curtain Raiser for the local Derby between Noosa and Maroochydore and a massive crowd is expected for both games.
Post match entertainment will consist of Live Music preformed by local Brisbane celebrity Tuffy.
