Chris Cameron's Noosa Tigers 3rd grade go into their final home and away game knowing that the finals dream will not happen in 2010. However,it must be stated that the boys from Noosa have been terrific in what must be a redevelopment year for our 3rds who have only a fifth of the players who featured in the previous 2 Grand finals in 3rd grade.
Chris Cameron himself must be credited for the faith and persistence he has shown in many young and new players to our code and the way in which those players have developed throughout the season.
To the Club as a whole,3rd grade isn`t all about winning Premierships. It`s about giving young blokes a game of footy locally each week and attempting to develop them into better people and footballers who can move up a grade in the future. Its about giving blokes who cannot make the travelling and training commitment in the pineapple hotel cup a game of footy and its about working with both the Senior and under 18s structure to ensure that the Noosa Footy Club is competing at its full strength.
Chris Cameron and his support staff have been excellent in this area and should be commended. Not once in 2010 have our travelling Reserves looked like forfeiting a game through lack of numbers whilst our Under 18s sit equal top of the State league ladder with many of them plying their trade in the 3rd grade when not picked in their age group. Our seniors of course sit comfortably on top of the PHC ladder so I`d say the 3rd grade have had a good hand in how we are faring as a footy club.
But enough of the backslapping, I`m sure what Chris Cameron and the 3rds would want more than anything is for plenty of the Tiger faithful to come down to our weyba rd headquarters and cheer on the boys as they tackle the highly fancied Pomona demons from 2pm in their final fixture round of the year. And don`t forget the 3rd grade league medal count which will be hosted by the Noosa tigers FC on Monday august the 9th from 6.30pm.
