A very understrenth Lismore side fought hard to go down to Byron in the final quarter in front of a vocal Swans crowd. The Swans started with the opening goal in the first minute of the game, however the quarter was all down hill from there on in with the Magpies kicking the next 5 goals of the term to lead by 25 points at quarter time.
The second quarter was a much better effort but left both sides and the crowd a little confused as each side went goal for goal with 50m penalties and undisciplined football. The Swans hitting back to be 3 goals down at the half time break.
A brilliant third term fightback by the Swans showd all the momentum with the red and the white as the Swans kicked towards the club house end entertaining the vocal Lismore crowd to lead Byron by 2 points at the final break.
Byron got a couple of easygoals early in the final term due to undisciplined backchat which reduced the Swans to 17 men for the second time in the game. However Lincoln being a key midfielder off the field really hurt the Swans due to lack of midfielders killing the Swans. This pumped up the Magpies who ended up piling the goals in the final term to run out comfortable winners.
Best for the Swans were Jason Bevan, Angus Legoe, Lincoln Shinners, Rowan Hindry, George Massa, Arlo Kemp
Goals went to George Massa with 3, 2 each to Daniel Moloney, Jak Johnson, and Dean Webb while singles were kicked by Simon Howard and Matt Meadows.
