This week at Mount Burr sees one of Port MacDonnell’s favourite sons reach his 200 game milestone.
Jason Smith is one of those extraordinary players to start his football career in the Junior Colts and progress all the way through to captain his club.
Smitty, as he is affectionately known, was one of the ‘young kids’ in Port MacDonnell’s last premiership year 1998 and has served his club with distinction ever since. Small in stature, but tough as nails, Smitty is renowned for putting his head where others fear to tread. So much so that ‘concussion’ has been as issue on more than one occasion. His tenacity and determination has been an inspiration for many at Port MacDonnell and his form so far this year has been outstanding. He is thoroughly enjoying playing in winning games and continues to inspire his team mates.
All at Port MacDonnell Football Club congratulate Jason and wish him all the best in his 200th milestone game.
