After a burst of windy wet weather in the morning, the day cleared for the battle between 1st and 5th placed Noosa and Burleigh Heads.
With Jason Boydle back from injury and Aaron Laskey a welcome returnee to the team, our Tigers immediately looked all business as they hit into the contest and but for some less than impressive finishing, could have been much much further than 2.6 to 0.1 in front at quarter time.
In the second our boys whilst still having shots from distance and on low percentage angles, whacked on 7.9 to 2.0 to sew the match up by the long break. Whilst over recent games, Jimmy Brain has scored late goals, he stood up right from the start in this match and his 3 goals were very timely and provided accuracy when shots were being sprayed.
Springy was again at his pacy, skillful best - a big improver the boy from Paklmwoods, Pagey held the rucks together, Cubby & Brew again were the dynamic duo on ball, Bova desperate and hardworking as usual and Bockie Eady extremely busy in the key forward slot.
Luke Matthews, Brainy and JR all performed well and Jason Boydle looked like he hadn't missed a beat.
In the third term the boys again dictated by adding 9.6 to 1.2 but in the last we took the foot off and were outscored 3 goals to 2.
All eyes and minds turn to next week when we take on Sandgate in our most important match of the season to date
