Great result for the Seniors on Saturday with a solid victory over St Kevins. After an even first quarter, we dominated the middle stanzas, and while we only kicked one in the last, it was already game over. (says I who was getting a bit twitchy in that last quarter!). Vossy was amongst the goalkickers again, bagging five which takes him to only one spot off the Larry Donohue award for leading goalkicker in Premier B. Sam Casey bobbed up with four majors of his own, while Corey Millard got his first for the club.
Ironically none of these guys got into the best players with Hammer getting the Main St Cafe award for BOG. He was impenetrable across half back and he is in a rich vein of form at the moment. Well done Hammer. Al Johnston, Spencer Roberts and Chis (for 3.5 quarters) deserve mentions.

The Reserves were right in the contest for three quarters, but ran out of legs in the last quarter to go down by 10 goals. Traffic Cop Paul Silberer was back to his "Neville Fields look a like best, While new boy Fitzy got three golas in his first game for the club. I cant think of too many players we have recruited from St Albans.

The U/19s also put up a great effort, boosted by a number of school players who acquitted themselves really well. Ben White and Kingy were fantastic in the middle and while the boys went down by 28 points, there were a lot of positive signs.

Off the field, it was a terrific day's luncheon with Deb McLachlan organising a fine show. It was great to see so many there and all with smiling faces. There were numerous giveaways and prizes so we would like to formally acknowledge the following who assisted -
- Andree Johnson from La Prairie Group who kindly donated a magnificent beauty pack as a raffle prize. (www.laprairie.com.au)
- The Highett Food Patch who provided a sensational dessert. The Highett Food Patch has just opened at 316 Highett Rd and is well worth checking out their culinary delights.
- Brett Carty from Advertising Associates who organised the "girly' magazines.
- Main Street Cafe in Mordialloc also provided some vouchers and indeed provide prizes during the course of the year
- Brian Hulme (9509 1128), a long time supporter of the club supplied the flower arrangements. Brian has the flower stalls at Malvern Central and the Galleria in the City
- New Balance who donated a voucher for the raffleand also provide other awards
If you get the chance to support these businesses, please do so. So thank you to all those that assisted in making it a great success.
This weekend Peter Mason will be organising the luncheon. All past players and parents are welcome to come along, when I believe a nice steak will be served up. Peter need to know by Tuesday evening if you plan on attending as he has to do the shopping!!
After that it is the sponsors lunch on the 24thh of July so put that one in your diary also.
This weekend's games are against Melbourne High School and Old Brighton.
