After starting the season with a win over the Toronto Dingoes, Hamilton seemed to have gone away from their original game plan of playing hard-nosed footy, short crisp handballs, switching the play coming out of their backline and using their speed to win the ball out of the center; they coincidently suffered 3 straight losses. Over the last few weeks, including Hamilton's tough loss to the top of the ladder (6-0) Toronto Eagles in Round 4, the 'Cats have gone back to the basics in hopes of rekindling their early season form as the OAFL approaches the half-way point of the season. After a solid all around team win versus the Swans in Ottawa, Hamilton headed home to face the (1-4) High Park Demons, and were looking at increasing their win streak to 2 games and jumping back into the running for a Finals spot in the 'Top 6'.
