Jak Johnston produced a show for the Lismore crowd on Saturday as he went on to slot 11 goals for the day and proved very dangerous in the air. Jak combined with fellow full forward Wes Seewald to kick 17 goals between them as they took on a much improved Nimbin Demons side. The final score did not reflect how competitive Nimbin was however it is good to see the Demons fighting all day long in Phil Tsourlinis 50th game for Swans.
The Swans opened the game with a 9 goal first term but did not look as convincing as score might indicate. The Demons fought real hard in the second term kicking the first 3 goals of the term and keeping the Swans goalless for the first 15 minutes of the quarter before piling on a few goals.
The Swans picked up the intensity in the third quarter and proved very damaging in a 12 goal term as the midfield found the strong leads of the forwards while Ethan Lenson proved a handful in support. Nathan Box did a brilliant job on keeping Demons danger man and goal sneak Billy Walker quiet for the day as the Swans marched on.
The final term saw the Demons pick up the physical intensity making it a very entertaining last quarter. The game may not have been close on the scoreboard however it was a very entertaining match for spectators. The Swans result was soured with an injury to forward Jak Johnston after an 11 goal afternoon.
Best for the Swans were Jak Johnston, Nathan Box, Jason Bevan, Wesley Seewald, Ethan Lenson, and Eddie Burton
Goal kickers were 11 to Jak Johnston, 6 each to Wesley Seewald and Ethan Lenson, 4 to George Massa, 3 to Michael Brown and singles to Eddie Burton, Simon Howard, and Jason Bevan
