On Sunday, Joshua Bartlett and Michael Taylor both played in the winning Under 12 Rep Carnival at Marrickville. The Sydney West team beat North Shore, City and North West in the preliminary matches and then beat Sydney South in the final by 11 points. Josh played in the forward line for the first game and then played full back for the other matches. Michael was in the back line when he was on the ground. It was a squad of 30 players so there was 12 on the bench, so getting game time was always going to be hard. Both boys handled themselves well are were not out of their league in the team. The boys played extremely well as a team considering they had only trained together 3 times. After the game, the team was presented with medals and a squad of 25 was named for a match or matches to be played on 10th July at Blacktown Olympic Park. Both Michael and Josh were named in this squad and will continue to train Monday nights at Penrith leading up to 10th July. Photo's are available in the Photo Gallery.
