Darren Barlow a former TPP coach from Hawkesbury took on the role of coach and between them they must have done a great job as the team remained undefeated all day to show the West really is the Best!
In previous years the teams entered from our Region have struggled for a win at the Gala Day so their effort was extraordinary.
Some of the other Regions form their teams at the start of the year and have been in training for 7-8 weeks, whilst our boys only had 3 training sessions before the day. Each Club was asked to send 5 players along to the tryouts for selection and a squad of 30 was picked from over 65 players. Three out of our five players from the Swans made the squad for the Gala Day. On completion of the Gala Day the final cut was made and the team reduced to 25 boys.
The Teams Assistant Coach Tim Badger and our President is very pleased to advise you that all 3 SWANS players have made it into the Official U12 "Representative" team. From of all us at the SWANS a Big Well Done to Robert Badger, Jordan Pares and Alex Taylor Dejonge. Well done boys and a BIG THANKS to their Parents who have done the extra running around, taken them out to training on some bleak nights and also into the inner city for the Gala Day. The Future is looking good!!
