Crows Fly Out Front to lead Region to historic wins.
The Region entered an U12 team in a Gala Day for all Greater Sydney Regions. As many of the Regional volunteers were tied up with Representative commitments a big thanks to John Hupfeld U12 Red Coach at the Crows and Tim Badger U12 Coach from Penrith Swans and Darren Pearson from South West Tigers for getting the ball rolling on forming a team. Darren Barlow a former TPP coach from Hawkesbury took on the role of coach and the 3 guys must have done a great job as our team remained undefeated all day to show the West is the Best!
In previous years the teams entered from our Region have struggled for a win at the Gala Day so today's effort was fanastic. Some of the other Regions form their teams at the start of the year and have been in training for 7-8 weeks. Our boys had about 3 runs together maybe less with the recent wet weather.
Each Club was asked to send 5 players along to the tryouts for selection and a squad of 30 was picked from over 65 players. All our 5 players made the sqaud for the Gala Day. Our Region has decided to promote and run "Representative Games" in the July school holidays using Blacktown Olympic Park. The U13, U14 and U16 TPP Regional Reps are also held 14/7 to 16/7 at the BOP.
After todays Gala Day result the Team Manager John Hupfeld was very pleased to advise all 5 Crows have made it into the "Rep" team. From of all us at the Crows a Big Well Done to Caleb Broughton, Lyndon Hupfeld, Ethan Claxton, Brice Star-Stephens and Jarrod O'Brien. Special mention to Caleb who was voted Best on Ground in the final. A sensational effort as he has only played a handfull of games in his first year.
Well done boys and a BIG THANKS to their Parents who have done the extra running around, taken them out to training on some bleak nights and also into the inner city for the Gala Day.
The Future is looking good!!
