The Swans have ended a two match loosing streak to get up over Coolangatta by 31 points in a hard fought out match. The Swans were challenged all day by the Blues however to the boys credit they were able to continually drive the ball forward and put pressure on Coolangatta.
It was a beautiful day for football and a good match was enjoyed by all, the Swans kicked with the breeze in the first but were put under enormous pressure in defence as Lismore took a 5 point lead into the first break.
The Swans were brilliant in finding space from half back and hitting leads from half forward in the second quarter which was the difference as the Swans took a handy 17 point lead into the main break.
With limited bench the Swans were exhausted coming into the third term however a couple of early goals in the third and a fantastic job by the back line who were continually put under pressure saw the Swans slightly extend there lead to 20 points at the final break.
The Swans stepped it up a little in the final term and the big man became strong targets around the ground. Two goals in two minutes by Eddie Burton put the nail in the coffen as the Swans took the points by 31 points.
A very positive and much improved performance by the Swans. On the down side the squad was once again crippled with injuries at the days end.
Best on the day were Angus Legoe, Eddie Burton, Simon Howard, Jason Bevan, George Massa, and Roly Barrett.
Jak Johnston kicked 4 goals, George Massa and Eddie Burton kicked 3 each, Wesley Seewald kicked 2, while Daniel Moloney and Cameron Aitken kicked 1 each.
The Swans take on a much improved Nimbin side in Lismore next Saturday.
