Round 9 Noosa V Toowoomba
After a long and tiring 4 hr trip to the Rockville oval our young colts prepared to do battle with the Toowoomba crows that have been very competitive on their home turf.
With the assistance of a strong breeze the crows stormed ahead by three goals at the first break. By half time the tigers that didn’t use the breeze as well as the home team still trailed by 10 points.
At the main break the tigers appeared to be down and out but Obi revved them up with some stern words and inspired the boys to kick 6 goals 2 pts against the breeze to only 1 point by the crows in the third.
With Noosa having the breeze in the last they maintained possession to run out victors by 35 points. Special mention to JT who came off the ground in the last quarter with a fair gash to the left eye ( lucky he got his chin out of the way) and went straight back on after some great work by Physio Mick. He got eight stitches for his efforts. Also terrific effort by little Oggy who blasted two quick goals against the breeze in the third to help the team to good win and to Muzza and Gunger who played thirds on Saturday and travelled all the way Toowoomba to help the team get the 4 points.
Once again the win is a result of a fantastic team effort and great coaching by obi. We have now moved into equal third above Aspley and a win against the hornet’s next round is a must.
