Our Premier Division team is in action against Pennant Hills at Henson Park; the match commenced at 1:45 this afternoon.
The match started in sunshine, but as the quarter unfolded the grey clouds began to gather overhead. On the field, the Bombers had plenty of the footy but found kicking into the wind not to their liking; and were unable to manage a goal despite having plenty of the ball.
It was a similar story in the second term - the Bombers getting plenty of the ball but squandering opportunities, and it wasn't until late in the quarter that the Bombers finally managed their first goal, what Lachlan Pryor converted a set shot to break the drought. At the long break, the Bombers trail by 21 points - and need a run in the second half to get back into the contest.
The Bombers came out fighting in the third term, and a quick-fire run of 4 out of 5 goals in the first 15 minutes cut the margin to just 3 points. But, although the momentum at that point looked to be running North Shore's way, the Demons steadied with 3 late goals and at the last change the Bomber deficit was 22 points.
By now the rain was bucketing down, and the late goals appeared to take the wind out of the Bombers' sails. The Bombers were unable to manage a goal in the last quarter, with the Demons taking out a 28-point victory.
Final Score - Pennant Hills 10.10 (70lead North Shore 5.12 (42)
