This week we
thank our sponsors Rivoli Bay Deli, SE Pasture Renovations and K & S Fuels.
Remember, we rely on our sponsors generosity so as club supporters support our
sponsors when ever you can.
Last week we travelled to Robe and the Junior Colts began
the day in wet conditions which made for a sometimes scrappy game. Several
players stood out in the wet with Dylan Montouri dominating across half back,
along with Tom Gilbertson. Greeny finished with 4 goals in another solid
performance. The boys continue to play a good brand of team football which has
them clear at the top of the ladder around the halfway mark of the year.
Best players- Dylan Montouri (John Cavs), Tom
Gilbertson(Pete Walters), Ben Lang (Gary Nilsson), Luke Green (HFC Ladies
Committee) and Lewis Walker (Hath Sp&Rec Steak)
The Senior Colts turned up with a positive attitude &
the signs looked good with an early goal to Fergus Slape. After that it was a
matter of waiting for that second half fight back. It was a sad looking
scoreboard at half time but the boys rallied to out score Robe in the second
half. Thanks to Watto, Chopper & Dylan Montouri for filling in &
performing well. The ‘Smithy” goes to Dylan Montouri who only played two
quarters but showed the older lads if you back yourself anything’s possible.
We’ll welcome back the twin towers for our clash with Tant although with Mason’s
effort up forward, Tom might be looking for a new position. Best players - Tom
Schultz (Seebohm), Cameron Slape (KAOS), Aden Bell (John Cavs), Mason Bunt (Gary
Nilsson), Tyler Snook (HFC Ladies committee) and Dylan Montouri (Hath Sp&Rec
Steak).
Keen to redeem ourselves in the Reserves after our dismal
effort against the Burr we were hopeful of a good showing against the
' Roosters '. With Luke Bowering in for his first game we had a very good
team on the field but for some silly reason we can't seem to play to our
capabilities and are coming second far too often. With Luke and his identical
twin Ryan (It is a coachs nightmare to try and tell them apart) getting the ball
out we should have been able to to give our forwards more opportunities but
we were lazy, non committal and beaten by a far hungrier opposition.
Hainsey led from the front again and Jarrod Finch kicked 5 goals when we did
work hard and got the ball forward. Best players were Ryan Bowering (K&S
Ampol), Luke Haines (Dave Reilly's), Mat Ballantyne (Grand Hotel) and Jarryd
Finch (Beachport Hotel). Today we take on the Tigers and we need a good win to
get our season back on track but we must work hard and play as a team ! Good
Luck.
What a great team effort from the A Grade last week
with five changes to the team from the previous weeks side, we played
some hard and exciting football to take the points over Robe.
With Fats, Jimmy and Frank into the side plus Casper and Trav stepping in
for game two for the day it provided us with some solid experienced footballers
who all had a hand in helping us get the points. We were able to play the most
consistent four quarters so far this year. Our patience with the ball
and good decision making, mixed with some good skills gave
us the edge in the second half . Our third quarter especially, was exciting with
the run and carry of the ball into the breeze, everyone pushed hard and
hunted in packs getting our hands on to the ball first and setting
ourselves up to finish the last quarter heading to the scoring
end. We were able to keep ourselves in front and get the second win for the year
under the belt. Best players were Dale Fabris (Somerset), Darren Paul
(Beachport Hotel), Matt Fabris (Millicent Golf), Tylah Saunders (Bompas) and Mat
Faulkner (Prince of Wales). Each week we are improving and to get
those four quarters together was a big step forward, if we continue to
do so more wins will not be far away. Great job boys, lets see if we can go
back to back this week.
Don't forget
tickets are now available at Ducky's and the club for our upcoming Sportsperson's
